The California Medical Board approves schools to become a midwifery schools where you can train to become a Certified Nurse Midwife and practice in California. The list of schools is available on the Accreditation Commission for Midwifery Education website.
- California State University Fullerton (CSUF) is based in Southern California
- University of California, San Francisco (UCSF) is based in Northern California
- BSN to DNP: This program prepares nurses who hold a BSN to become experts and leaders in an advanced practice specialty and health policy-public health. The Nurse-Midwifery specialty prepares it's students to sit for the California Board of Registered Nursing, Nurse-Midwife certificate.
